When we become determined to achieve something its only natural to want to see the end result of our efforts FAST. But weight loss and muscle gain are too things that take time, consistency, and determination. Soon that excitement and drive that first got you started might wear down and the reality will set in of the hard work ahead. It’s normal to have highs and lows of self motivation, it happens to EVERYONE.

The number one thing that people tend to say about starting a goal is it’s not the right time. It’s not the right time to start a weight loss plan. I’m not ready to commit, I have the holidays coming up, birthday parties, spring break, summer break, a trip, and the list goes on. Well we all have those things. We all have the day to day busy life challenges and the events, and the holidays, and commitments in life. The only “RIGHT” time in life will be when you say its the right time and push through all the other “stuff”. Those things will still happen and life will still move forward. But now your actually doing something for yourself and getting closer to your own goal.

THINGS TO REMEMBER WHEN SETTING A GOAL

  • Pick what your goal will be.
  • Pick a start date.
  • Plan how you are going to achieve your goal.
  • Enlist others to help you.
  • Tell others your goal so they can help provide support and encouragement.
  • Don’t expect perfection, you will have some trip ups and bumps along the way.
  • Always keep moving forward, consistency is the winner.
